Scott Pilgrim vs the World changed my life...

I liked the movie because it sort of changed my philosophy on life, among other things. It really showed me that I am a pathetic human being who will never do anything spectacular in his entire life, and is far too strange to stay in a fantastic and long-lasting relationship with a worthwhile female. I realized how messed up the society we live in is, and truly longed for something more.

No, I am not naive, I already knew these things, but I was living in a dream world. I was looking for the answers in all the wrong places. I was holding out hope and constantly wishing for the power to make a difference in my own miserable existence, the powers of a god. Despite knowing this to be impossible, as life went on and every day was the exact same as the one before it, I wanted this more and more.

I don't know what the meaning of life is, and I don't have the answers, but what I do know is that we aren't supposed to work minimum wage jobs, barely being able to support ourselves, and trying to become successful in a corporate world. In my opinion, we are supposed to expand our consciousness and push ourselves to the maximum human mental capacity, and then far surpass that.

We aren't suppose to live in a society where physical appearance is more important than your consciousness, and your consciousness is what makes you human. Not this arbitrary body in which you possess, this shell, if you will. We are taught from the moment we are born that the most important object in life is money and that we should strive to be rich. Money has far more value in this world than it should, bettering yourself and ascending to a higher existence should always take precedence over money.

  11. Maybe you're seeing more than there is in this movie. As far as I can tell, it's just a plain regular movie, except they filled it with gaming/internet subculture references. In a sense this too is essentially what you're saying, but it's hard to see that directly just watching the movie. So either you're really DEEP, or you're just way ahead of everyone.

  16. yes humanity has done a fine job turning what should be a dream world into a living nightmare where a few people control all of the resources/power and have all the fun while pissing on everyone else
but I try not to think about it too much because it could be a lot worse
